Cricketer Bismah Maroof arrives at the stadium with his baby in his arms
The girls in green may have lost the ICC Women’s World Cup match to India, but team captain Bismah Maroof has definitely won the internet! A photo of the cricketer arriving at the stadium with her six-month-old child in her arms has gone viral on social media, with users appreciating the skipper’s dedication to the game and her family.
Bismah gave birth to the baby girl in August last year, with her daughter making her stadium debut in the Pakistan v India game held in New Zealand.
Several Twitter users took to the site to praise Bismah for gracefully juggling motherhood and her cricketing career, with one user writing, “A very powerful image of how a crib-rocking hand can hold a beat at the same time. Thank you for leading the way, Bismah Maroof. Keep shining.
Another shared, “In our complex socio-demographic and cultural milieu, for women to perform and represent their country while fulfilling their domestic duties is highly commendable.”
