Good news! Get hassle-free permission for low-risk buildings now; here’s how
Panji: The state government has notified the power of licensed architects and engineers to issue technical permits for small structures and buildings in a move that should relieve applicants whose permits are stuck in the quagmire of red tape. bureaucracy in the Town and Country Planning Department.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said in a media interview on Saturday that the notification which empowers architectural and engineering notaries to issue permits for low-risk buildings up to 500 square meters had been issued.
Sawant had included the proposal in his speech during the presentation of the 2022-23 state budget in the Goa Legislative Assembly earlier this week.
Previously, Chief Secretary Punneet Kumar Goel, IAS, also issued orders which streamlined the powers of different levels of TCP officers and clearly delineated the jurisdiction of the taluka, district and TCP headquarters in granting sanctions techniques for the projects.
Goel, who is also the Portfolio Secretary, had simultaneously led the scaling of the TCP department and the Online PDA Approval System (BPAMS) for all building types up to a built-up area of 5,000 square meters.
These reforms are expected to speed up approval granting processes suspected of facing long delays due to alleged corruption-related bureaucracy.
