The Bruins have yet to announce a real starting goalie for the 2021-22 season.

There’s a good chance they won’t at any time of the year, to be honest. It’ll be a week-to-week affair for B coach Bruce Cassidy, and it’ll be an on-ice battle between sophomore pro Jeremy Swayman and $ 20 million addition Linus Ullmark. But it will be the right kind of battle, as Swayman, 22, explained.

“We’re teammates, and that’s the best part about it,” Swayman said. “We want the best for the team. Anyone who wears the B spoke knows the same. It’s a very competitive locker room. We understand that if we go head-to-head it will only make the team better. I think it’s our state of mind.
