Prince Harry Visits Texas Rodeo, Jokes About Competing
A royal surprise! Prince Harry left his Montecito mansion to attend a rodeo in Texas.
The Duke of Sussex, 37, was pictured at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo in Fort Worth, Texas. However, the photos have since been removed from social media. The accounts offered no explanation as to why the photos were deleted.
Cindy Reidthe Stockyards Championship Rodeo secretary, shared a photo on Monday, March 7, entertainment tonight reports. “Where was Prince Harry on Saturday night?” Reid captioned the since-deleted photo. “Oooooh, just hanging out behind the bucking chutes at the Stockyards Championship Rodeo!! Love it!! Thanks for the visit!!”
Meanwhile, Melton Bull Co. – owned by a former bull-turned-trainer Cory Melton — shared the same image before also deleting their post, page 6 reports. “Prince Harry hanging out at the rodeo this week… We’re getting a lot of rodeo royalties but he’s the first prince I’ve seen,” the caption read. “He said he was going to get into bull riding but the airline lost his rig bag…”
The candid snap showed Harry in conversation with a small group. The Archewell co-founder wore a sage green shirt with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He completed his outfit with an olive green hat (which looked more like an Indiana Jones-style fedora than an actual cowboy hat).
He was surrounded by other people wearing flannel shirts and cowboy hats, but his wife Meghan Markle was not photographed.
The attraction, which is advertised as “the world’s only year-round rodeo,” features bull riding, tether rope, team rope, barrel racing, bronc riding and breaking rope. The Stockyards website also advertises ‘veal and mutton scrambles’ for children, but the England native may have left 2-year-old Archie and 9-month-old Lilibet at home. None of the cubs have been photographed with him.
